LM Parfums Giveaway: Hard Leather

I’m incredibly excited to announce that LM Parfums has generously offered a really huge giveaway of ten (10!) prizes. Ten winners will each get one 5 ml glass decant of Hard Leather, the perfume I fell for so hard last year and which I put as #1 on my list of Best of 2013. It is also ranked #1 on my list of Favorite Perfumes from all current, non-vintage fragrances on the market. For reasons explained below, I’m afraid this giveaway is for U.S. readers only.

HARD LEATHER:

Hard Leather in the 100 ml bottle.

Hard Leather in the 100 ml bottle.

I loved Hard Leather from the very first instant that I smelled it. It was immediate, automatic, and visceral, with the sort of reaction I haven’t felt in years. I’m rather aloof in public or with people who I don’t know well, but, as I wrote in this story of meeting Laurent Mazzone, the founder of LM Parfums, his Hard Leather made me completely lose my crackers in public, and in one of the most constipatedly snobbish, haughty places in Paris. So, what does it smell like? You can read my detailed review, but the short list of Hard Leather’s notes may help in the meantime:

Rum, Leather, Iris, Honey, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Oud, Frankincense, Styrax and Vanilla.

For me, Hard Leather is as much about the lusty animalic aspects and the dark woods as it is about the actual leather. It has very expensive aged Laotian oud, but the true beauty is the massive amounts of very genuine Mysore sandalwood. Regular readers know how I consistently go through modern “sandalwood” fragrances with a curled lip, and a dismissive “not real Mysore” response. Infact, one reader has vowed to get me a t-shirt with the words “Sandalwood Snob” on it, and I would wear it gladly. But Hard Leather has the real stuff.

The use of such a rare ingredient in such vast amounts makes complete sense when you meet Laurent Mazzone. He is a man who began his career in fashion, loves opulence, has the highest standards for everything he does, and is intensely passionate about his perfumes. He wants to his fragrances to be a luxury in a way that harkens to the golden time of perfumery through the use of the richest ingredients possible, only done with a nod to modern tastes. He talks of the legendary Guerlains with love, but he is far too aware of current fashions to create something dated or old-fashioned in feel. He always goes for the best, from his choice of the Hotel Costes for us to meet, to asking his friend, the late Mona di Orio, to create one of his fragrances, or insisting on the most expensive raw materials from Robertet. (They are a fragrance ingredient company known for the highest quality naturals, and whose focus is on “cultivating the real thing.” Mr. Mazzone would expect nothing less.)

yet, for all its refined, sexy lustiness and opulent Mysore sandalwood, Hard Leather is not for everyone. It is dark, animalic, musky, slightly raunchy, smoky, and skews very masculine. I happen to think that it is the most refined take possible on animalic leather, but how you fare will depend strongly on skin chemistry. For the lucky ones, like one or two Basenotes commentators, Hard Leather is as good as the revered Puredistance M, and the best release of 2013. Others, however, experienced a fecal note to the leather in Hard Leather’s opening 15 minutes, and really struggled with the scent. So, I repeat, Hard Leather is a complex, elaborate scent that isn’t for everyone.

Hard Leather is not currently available in the U.S., though you can order it from either LM Parfums or Premiere Avenue (which is also owned by Laurent Mazzone). (See, the Details section at the end for full retail information.) Osswald in NYC is the exclusive LM Parfums distributor in North America, but they don’t have Hard Leather listed on their website and I don’t know when they will get the fragrance. None of the decanting services offer Hard Leather. In short, U.S. perfumistas have very limited access to the perfume at this time, unless they pay an expensive shipping fee from Europe.

This is the main reason why I’m limiting the giveaway to U.S. readers. In addition, however, I will be shipping the decants to the winners myself, so I’ll be honest and say that the high international shipping rates charged by the U.S. Postal Service played a small role in my decision as well.

THE PRIZES:

Hard Leather 5 ml decant.

Hard Leather 5 ml decant.

Ten (10) readers will each get ONE (1) 5ml glass dab bottle of Hard Leather which is an Extrait or Pure Parfum. Hard Leather retails for €295 for the 100 ml bottle which, at the current rate of exchange, comes to roughly $406. The retail price of the 5 ml decant is €19, but with shipping, you’re looking at spending well over $50 for the decant being offered here. In short, LM Parfums was unbelievably generous.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

There are two requirements to enter:

  1. You are in the U.S.; and
  2. You have to leave a comment down below, perhaps letting me know your favorite animalic scent or if you have tried anything from LM Parfums.

As a side note, I usually respond to each and every comment left in one of my Giveaways, but I won’t be doing so this time, for reasons of time and a really hectic schedule this week. I hope you won’t think me rude. Rest assured, I’ll be jotting all your names down and answering any questions that you may have.

WHEN DOES IT END:

The entry period lasts until the end of Friday February 21, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) in the U.S. which is -6:00 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

WINNERS, EMAILS & SHIPPING:

The 10 winners will be chosen by Random.org, and will be announced sometime the next day on Saturday, February 22nd.

Once I post the winners, you have THREE (3) days to contact me with your shipping information. Deadline is end of the day, my time, on Tuesday February 25th. Please send an email to Akafkaesquelife @ gmail . com  (all one word, scrunched together) with your shipping details.

If you don’t contact me, and if I fail to hear from you within the deadline, I will give your prize to the next person on the list.

Please be aware that I am not responsible for items accidentally lost or destroyed in transit for some reason. I will bubble-wrap like mad, but one never knows what may happen. The prize cannot be replaced.

I’d like to express my enormous gratitude to Laurent Mazzone of LM Parfums, as well as to Fabienne who assists him in these matters. He is truly one of the nicest guys you’ll meet in general, but this is an incredibly lavish gesture. I really don’t have the words to properly thank Mr. Mazzone for his generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness in offering such a huge number of decants of such an enormously expensive, but utterly fantastic, perfume. I wish you knew how ridiculously excited and happy I am that more of you will get to try my beloved Hard Leather. I know it won’t suit all of you, but I hope a few of you buckle to your knees as I did. Given Hard Leather’s price and the fact that it isn’t even available in the U.S. yet, this is a unique opportunity for all of you to try the scent, an opportunity which wouldn’t be possible at all without Mr. Mazzone. So, again, my deepest thanks to him.

Good luck to everyone!

  1. I am obsessed with animalics right now and would give I-don’t-know-what to win some Hard Leather. M. Mazzone, what a very kind gesture. And Kafkaesque, thanks for hosting.

  2. Okay! Hi Kafka! My favorite animalic scent is Kouros – though to be honest I never thought of it as animalic until I started reading Basenotes. I always thought of it as a floral honey incense that smelled especially lovely the next day. Nobody in the 15 years I wore it at work said anything other than how nice my cologne smelled – and I had only the one cologne! Anyway, I’d like to enter the drawing for Hard Leather as Hard Leather is hard to get and your review has left me definitely intrigued! Thank you for the opportunity to enter this drawing.

  3. I enjoy animalic scents and would love to try Hard Leather especially after your scintillating review! I have and enjoy Miller Harris’s L’air de Rien and on me Bond No.9 New York Oud has a pretty powerful urinous undertone(I think it’s the saffron).I also have some real civet and castoreum which I experiment with, layering them under other scents. As for LM Parfums I have a sample of Sensual Orchid which I thoroughly enjoy.I’m in the US.Thank you Kafka and LM Parfums for this amazing draw!

  4. Oh yay, u alwayz have the nicest giveaways Kaf ! 🙂 …. However hmm :(– methinkingz it’s almost worth perhaps attempting a quick flight highjackin over the weekend, so I too might take advantage of such a cool opportunity. (LOL) As been dying to sniff this one ever since reading your fab review of it.
=> (Mind u, probs not exactly best idea to even be jokin bout dis stuff, lest I get dragged off by some paranoid eavesdropping “BigDaddy” Gov-type or sumting 😀

Just gonna have to rather bite my tongue & sit tight here boo-ing & hissing quietly (reflecting a pool of luminescent green aura possibly). Ha! :/ Oh well …..

But, GOOD LUCK all u lucky ‘mericans …

  5. I have not tried any of LM Parfum’s creations. Hard Leather sounds absolutely amazing. I love the note breakdown. My favorite animalic fragrance is Absolue Poir le Soir with Ambrarem a close second. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

  6. Dear Kafka,
Thank you for another giveaway. I would like to participate.
I’ve always loved leathers and since a few months have discovered that I like, maybe love animalic scents. I have MKK, Bal à Versailles and quite a few others. Grand Cuir was too clean and soapy a leather on me, and I’ve been intrigued by your review of hard leather.
    Bring on the dirty :)))

  7. What a fabulous giveaway! My favorite animalic smell is that of my cat. 🙂 As for perfume, I suppose it is Cuir de Russie, but ask me again tomorrow, as it will probably change. I have not tried LM, but am definitely looking forward to trying Hard Leather!
    (I live in the U.S.)

  8. the note pyramid is literally everything i like. favorite animalic is kiehls no 1 musk, or kouros. best of luck.

  9. I live in the U.S. but have never tried any of LM perfumes although Hard Leather has been in the forefront lately. My latest favorite animalic scent is 1996 by Byredo.

  10. My favorite animalic scent is Bal á Versailles extrait, however the edp version is way more skanky. I enjoy them both. Thanks for the draw!

  11. I would love to score some hard, hard leather 🙂 A giant thank you to Mr. Mazzone for the draw offerings, and to you for hosting the giveaway! As for favorite animalic? So hard to choose! I don’t know even where to start as most of my favorites smell like smooshed bunny rabbits! So furrrrrrrrry!!!!

  12. Kafka! I haven’t got fav animalic (yet) … also I won last time but unfortunately it didn’t showed up. Best, Vlad.

    • I’m really sorry to hear that. Can you email me to let me know which fragrance it was that you won, and any details that may apply. If it was the Grand Cuir giveaway, he should have sent you an email regarding the delay in shipping. But, really, at this point, this is ridiculous. Are you in the U.S.? I cannot believe you haven’t received your prize yet, and I’m utterly embarrassed. I wish you had let me know sooner. Please email me, and we can see what we can do about this.

  13. Oh I how would love to get my hands on LM Parfums samples!! Hard Leather sounds divine and I would also love to sample Sensual Orchid! In terms of animalic scents, this is a newer category for me and one that I hope to gain more knowledge and experience in 2014! Where is a good place to begin with animalics?

Thank you for hosting a great giveaway and I live in the US.

    • In terms of places to start, if you like gourmands or sweeter scents, then you may want to consider Frederic Malle’s Musc Ravageur. If your skin can take honey, and if you like a lot of spices, then perhaps Francis Kurkdjian’s Cologne pour le Soir which is a lighter, milder version than his Absolue. There is always Serge Lutens’ Muscs Koublai Khan, too.

But the real place that I would start is with Amouage’s Jubilation 25 (women) which has a subtle dose of it amidst the chypre-oriental aspect, and which isn’t as hardcore as the rest. It would probably be the best way to ease you into what is considered the “Skank” or animalic category of fragrances. Jubilation 25 is gorgeous as a whole, and the “dirty” aspects are extremely muted as compared to all these other ones, so that would be the best one to try as a baby step. Plus, it’s beautiful as a whole. 🙂

I have you on my Hard Leather giveaway list at #13. Good luck.

  14. I’m not sure if this counts, as I live in Canada, but I have a US “scent mule” that I send stuff to regularly (at this point, I’ve got her address memorized). I completely understand if that’s not going to work, though. I haven’t tried any of the LM parfums yet, as this point my most animalic perfume would be Caron’s Femme.

    • Hard Leather is nothing like Rochas’ Femme in terms of animalic skank; it’s much more raunchy or dirty. It’s also significantly masculine in nature. But I’ll put you on the list, as you have a “scent mule.” 🙂 Good luck.

  15. You’ve made me curious about this perfume. I’m in the US, buried under a few feet of snow. Bal a Versailles and Femme are two animalic scents I like. For leather I like Whips and Roses.
Hope you’re busy with fun things this week. Give the Hairy German a hug please.

  16. Wow. I think about Hard Leather everyday. I was just reading on Fragrantica a reviewer who was given Hard Leather as a Christmas present by Laurent. An animalic leather, rawr! I was just wearing MKK and Absolue pour le Soir and concentrating on that sexy dirtiness that lingers. Thanks Kafka 🙂

    • A Christmas present of Hard Leather… it sounds very much like Mr. Mazzone. He’s a really sweet, warm person with true gentleness, sensitivity, and generosity. I’m not just saying that because of the giveaway. I genuinely really liked him as a person. He’s the sort who has such a zest and passion for life, as well as sweetness and gentleness, that he’d be a blast to hang out with.

  17. Please count me in! I adore the vintages that have a touch of animalic in their compositions; Youth Dew and Opium. Thanks LM and Kafka!

    • Hard Leather makes vintage Opium and Youth Dew look like Acqua di Gio in terms of animalics, Vicky. Just a warning. But I have you on my list at #17.

  18. I would love to get a chance to try this scent, as I have not yet tried any LM Parfums scents but I trust your taste…I bought Kalemat on your recommendation and I LOVE it!! I am in the US. Such a generous man!

  19. Woo-hoo! I liked this one a lot. My favorite animalic scent is probably Absolue pour le Soir. Actually, I’m not sure if it counts as animal, but I like to think so.

  20. Hi Kafka….when your review came out last year I immediately went to LM and bought a sample…its great in cold weather and does not have that awful sweaty horse ass scent that a lot of leathers do. Good pick. 5mls will keep me through swfl winters.
    M

  21. Very nice giveaway, not for myself but for my best friend who lives in Ohio USA can I participate on behalf of him. He works in hospital very busy always. I sometimes send him male perfume samples those sachet types by mail. Anyway would be nice for him to win some nice perfume.
If I should win I would send his hospital address in Ohio so he gets it there as he always works.
Long time ago I used to like Bal A Versailles and Youth Dew.

  22. Good morning! What an exciting opportunity! My favorite leather/animalic to date has been Cuir de Russie but I haven’t tried many so this would be wonderful! Thanks so much!

  23. I love reading your blog. My favorite animalic scents are YSL Kouros and Le Labo Oud 27. I recently purchased Kalamat and Fourreau Nor as a result of reading your best of list and the reviews. Thank You so much for feeding my obsession with fragrance by writing such thorough and enjoyable reviews.

    • Thank you for your very kind words on the blog and my reviews. I hope you’re enjoying Fourreau Noir and Kalemat. 🙂 As for your favorite animalic scents, it sounds like Hard Leather will be very much up your alley. You’re on my list at #23.

  24. I’m in. I am in the US.

Animalic notes are used effectively in Bandit, vintage Shalimar and Cuir Mauresque.
As for LM Perfumes, I’ve tried only one heretofore, Ambre Muscadin, an oriental in the Shalimar camp that also features wild smells.

  25. From sunny S.C., I’ll tell you that I haven’t tried an LM Perfume before. I love Alexander McQueen (rest his soul) fashions, etc., and I still really like and use his Kingdom…somewhere described as a “skankfest.” Wonderful! THANKS…J.

  26. I’ve not tried any LM Parfums, although I certainly would love too after reading your review. I’m in the U.S. Does Opium qualify as an animalic scent? If it does, as suggested by another post, that would be my favorite.

  27. Hard Leather has been on the top of my wish list since your review & I’d love to smell it! Cuir Ottoman & Ambre Dore are two favorite animalic fragrances of mine. Thank you.

  28. Thanks for another wonderful giveaway opportunity. I honestly can’t say I have a favorite animalic, as I’m old enough to have just experienced those notes as being an integral part of perfume. Perhaps Hard Leather would jolt me out of that? 🙂

    I’m in the US.

  29. I haven’t yet tried any LM Parfums, and being one of the ten, would be over the top wonderful!
Absolue pour le Soir, L’air de Rien, Bal à Versailles and Jolie Madame are favorites.
I live in the US. Many thanks for the opportunity.

  30. I haven’t tried any LM Parfums yet, either. Hard Leather would be a great start. Animalics in my collection include Cuir Ottomon, Kublai Khan by Serge, Musk by Kiehls. Actually, leather is a component of most of my frags. Thank you LM Parfums and Kafkaesque for giving a broke fumehead a chance to try something new. I’m located in the SF Bay Area, USA.

  31. I haven’t tried any LM Parfums, but my oh my would I love to try this. How generous, too! Honestly, I haven’t explored animalistic scents, though I did love a sample of Serge Lutens’ Miel de Bois, which I’ve heard repulses some with a “cat pee” note (which I did not smell). I *do* love the smell of my cat (though not her box, but it doesn’t bother me. . .)! Hard Leather includes almost every favorite note of mine, except for the leather (ha!) about which I’m guessing I just need to find the right perfume because I do love the smell of leather! I’m in the U.S. Thank you to all.

  32. Wow thanks sooo much for the giveaway! I live in the US. I’m a Shalimar gal, anything “skanky.” Leather, Oud – I love it all! I’ve gotten some Soivohle Tobacco and Tulle recently that is super skanky/animalic – a light hand is needed with this one! Cuir de Russie and Montale Dark Aoud are also favorites. I love scents that skew masculine quite a bit (I think that’s common for us women that enjoy heavy Orientals though). I haven’t tried any LM perfumes, and I must say…I’d love to have this Hard Leather be the first. 🙂

  33. Thanks so much for the chance to try Hard Leather. I’m in the US and my favorite animalic is Cartier Panthere (sadly discontinued now) which has the most delicious civet note. I’m looking for a new love–from the notes, Hard Leather could be in the running. I love leather and dark smoky scents.

    • Ah, if you like Panthere, then you should be able to manage the skankiness of Hard Leather, though it’s significantly darker, woodier, and drier. I have you on my list. Good luck, Foxbins.

  34. So lovely a giveaway. Thank you! Vintage Shalimar and Bal a’ Versailles are personal essentials. And I just sampled Aftelier’s Cuir de Gardenia, a different animal but certainly a leather. Would adore the chance to dab an LM.

  35. Haven’t ever had a chance to try any of the LM Parfums lines. But I must say, your raving review has given me quite the desire to. Even if I don’t win, thank you so much for the work you do on this blog, I can’t imagine its quick and your time must be valuable. So again, thank you.

    • First, welcome to the blog, Aaron. Second, thank you so much for your very kind words. My time is no less valuable than yours or anyone else’s, but I do spend quite a bit of mine on the blog. lol 🙂 That said, your comment really meant a lot to me after a very hectic week in which I’m feeling rather frazzled, so thank you for the encouragement and support. I hope you will feel free to pop by again from time to time.

You’re on my list at #36. Good luck.

  36. Oh yes, PLEASE enter my name!!! I have yet to sniff any of LM’s creations, but I have certainly read your glowing comments regarding Hard Leather!! I would have to say that I used to love my vintage Bal aVersailles, purchased on my 10th anniversary celebration in Bermuda. I was barely 30, 2 small children at home, and completely unexposed to many of the finer scents of the time. A wonderful SA steered me towards the BaV, as well as Ysatis, and on my own I purchased Diva by Ungaro, as it smelled divine on a good friend. Gotta say, Diva ended up my least favorite of the three!! How I wish I still had those others!! I also wore vtg Shalimar while dating my husband- he adored it!! So, I don’t really know which specific animalistic scent I like best- search is still in progress!! And I’d LOVE to try Hard Leather!! I seem to have similar tastes to yours in frags, so would love to give this a shot!!!

    • Corrections: “animalic” scents, not “animalistic!” 🙂
Also, forgive any inadvertent misspellings of frags!!

    • I’m really sorry, too, my dear, as I know you’d love — LOVE — this one. I think that, with your particular tastes, it would blow your socks off. When it finally gets to Harvey Nick’s in London, I hope you will seek it out.

On a side note, my WordPress has been acting up for over 10 days now, and it isn’t giving me notifications of ANYONE’s new blog posts. But I try to remember to stop every few days to see if there is something new and to read, even if I lurk and don’t have time to comment. Just know that if I haven’t commented lately, it’s because WordPress is being a thorough nuisance these days.

      • Dearest Kafka
Fear not… I’m sure the Hard Leather will arrive, by motorcycle courier no doubt, one day.
As to WP, it does seem to be playing tricks on all of us at the moment, a few people’s posts have stopped appearing in my reading list too for no apparent reason… I’m sure all will be well in the end!
        Yours ever
        The Perfumed Dandy

  37. Hello! I am based in the US. I don’t have a favorite animalic scent, although I am a fan of leathers scents. Unfortunately haven’t tried anything from LM Parfums yet.

Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

  38. Ever since reading your first review for this scent I’ve been checking the Osswald website daily to seen when they will stock it. I’d love to try the rest of the line as well. Currently, my favorite animalic scent is Masque Milano Montecristo which I adore. Thank you for the generous draw and to LM Perfumes! I am in the U.S.

  39. Darling Kafka,
    I am in the US.
I don’t think I have any real experience with animalic or raunchy scents. I owned every single monstrous creature from the 80’s and I often time read that they were dirty but I don’t recall my 80’s like that at all. I may have devolved in my tastes or skin chemistry, because, as you may know by now though, I tend to turn very inoffensive scented creatures into warm urinals in a sleazy tavern, however, I do love myself an unhealthy dose of cumin. I am training myself to get used to feral scents. I am starting with baby steps: Musc Nomade every other day. Since you spoke here of Sensual Orchid I have been dying to try it, quite literally. I am still lusting over it. But I have not yet tried anything by LM.
Thanks to you and LM Parfums for this giveaway!

  40. Kafka –

I’ve been dying to try this one ever since I read your review. I’d love to be entered into the drawing. My favorite current animalic perfume is Kurkdjian’s Absolue Pour Le Soir. I was at Scent Bar two weeks ago and finally had the chance to smell the whole line. So funny that Absolue comes from that range of (mostly) fresh, clean perfumes. It certainly stands out, haha!

    • The MFK line really *IS* mostly clean and fresh, isn’t it??! It’s why I’ve rather stayed away… Sadly, Absolue Pour Le Soir is said to be the weakest seller in his whole line, and I think he’s rather sad about that as he would prefer to make scents like that, but his backers expect more commercial, unconventional fragrances. 🙁

  41. Hello! I live in the US and have never tried any of LM’s line. I am a newbie in the vast world of perfumes, but Chanel’s Coco always seems animalistic to me.

  42. I have recently been hunting for a favorite animalic. Just yesterday, I sampled Rubj by Vero Profumo. It was something of a roller coaster ride for me. Not as dark as I thought it might be. Perhaps HL will be my favorite? Have yet to experience a LM fragrance; sounds seriously delightful.
    I reside in the US.
A big thanks to you and Mr. Mazzone for such a generous give away,
    Jackie

  43. What a fabulous giveaway! I’ve never tried LM Parfums before but I came across a few mentions of Hard Leather when reading reviews of Puredistance M, which I loved so much I bought a decant minutes into my first testing.

My favorite animalics are vintage Shalimar and Bal a Versailles, in quantities too large for polite company!

  44. Hi Kafka! I like Rubj by Vero Profumo and still trying hard to love Cuir de Russie, which I have aquired in extrait a few months ago. I have not smelled any LM fragrances, but would love the oportunity to try Hard Leather. Many thanks to you and Mr. Mazzone.
    I am in the US.

  45. I did sniff a few of the LM scents in Osswald’s in the summer, but my nose and memory were short circuited by that point. Too many fragrances…too little time. I am in the US.

  46. I love the old school leather, Santa Maria’s Peau d’espange. It’s very nice. I have a sample of hard leather coming from a friend. I can’t wait to try it!

  47. I adore animalic scents! can’t say that I really have a favorite at the moment, but would love to try hard leather!

  48. Hi Kafka,

I have good memories of Bal A Versailles and Ysatis. I am not familiar with any of the more recent animalic scents, but I look forward to trying some of the suggestions you’ve given, as well as some of the favorites given by commenters. Thanks for the opportunity.

    I lve in the US.

  49. I come from old barns, deep woods and bareback horses so Hard Leather sounds to me like a mystical perfume door to euphoric and rogue dimension. All the better to come from a creator of great proportions of kindness. Thank you sir.

Just the signature scent for a femme fatale outlaw in Western U.S.

  50. Hi Kafka,
What a great giveaway. I would be so thrilled to be able to try Hard Leather. The perfume obsession I seem to have acquired is fairly new. I have been sampling a lot of fragrances and much to my surprise I am loving the animalic/ skank note. I love CB Musk Reinvention, Serge Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan, Bal a Versailles. Ever since i read your glowing review of Hard Leather I have wanted to try it. I even went to LM website to order a sample but, (as you mentioned] the shipping cost was too much for me to justify. I reallly enjoy your blog, very informative. I look forward to reading and learning more from you. I am proud to say I live in the good ole USA. Thanks to you and Mr Mazzone for the wonderful opportunity. Take Care.

  51. Hi Kafka! I would love to try this scent. Like I said before, I’m still a newbie to the animalic scents, but I’m all about expanding my horizons. I got my samples from Aftelier, and after playing around, I would say my favorite animalic is Fig. I’m not sure if that counts, though. I forgot to order Cuir Gardenia (curse my foggy brain!) but I’m headed back for more. I’m also in the US.

  52. How very generous! I have not tried anything from LM Perfumes but this sounds AMAZING. Thanks much!

  53. I am wearing one of my favorite recent animalics – Fueguia’s Ballena de la Pampa. My top is probably Dzing! by l’Artisan.

Hard Leather sounds fantastic and I’ve been wanting to try LM Parfums’ offerings, so this is a perfect opportunity. I’m in the US, of course.

    Thanks for the chance. 🙂

  54. What a generous giveaway–thanks so much! I live in the US and my favorite animalic is Absolue pour le Soir.

  55. I have very little experience with perfumes since I started this journey only a year ago. So far, the only animalic scent I know is Absolue pour le soir. I love it. If this is animalic then bring it on 🙂
As per LM parfums, I haven’t tried any yet.
Thanks Kafka. I am in the USA.

  56. Oh, the notes of Hard Leather sound incredible, I just adore real Mysore Sandalwood. My favourite animalic… can I choose two? Onda and L’Ombre Fauve!
I’m in the US. Thanks for hosting the giveaway 🙂

  57. You know me and leathers, either love it or hate it, but I am curious about this one as you have such excellent taste! My favorite animalic would have to be MFK’s Absolue Pour le Soir…one of my all time favorites! Thanks for the draw my dear…and yes, I’m in the US!

  58. Leather I love. Saddles. Boots. Black hard leather. Tuscan Leather and Lonestar Memories being my favorites this past few months. I have not tried anything by LM Parfumes but cannot wait to try this! So many thanks to you and to LM Parfumes for hosting this giveaway.
    I am in the US!

  59. Hi Kafka! I immediately added Hard Leather to my sample list after reading your review, but have not sampled it, or Sensual Orchid yet. I’ve had to put myself on a more restricted budget for perfume samples, unfortunately. So I’ve actually not tried any of the LM Parfums scents yet, even though they are high on my list to do so. As to a favorite animalic scent, I am only recently exploring them. My favorite so far has been Olympic Orchid’s Dev #2, a beautiful rendition of leather, spices and resins. And if we are including honey notes as animalic, I absolutely love Ginestet Botrytis! Thank you, and the LM Parfums team, for this very generous giveaway!

  60. What a generous giveaway, thanks for having it! I live in the us, and I have not ventured into the really skanky scents yet, so many are described as spicy (my skin amps spices to an unbearable degree) and/or cumin, which I love in food but not my perfume! I’ve been quite into musks all the same, and I’ve been wearing Jovan Musk, of all things, for weeks. I’ve seen it described as animalic and if so, then I love them.

Hard Leather sounds so interesting with the combination of booziness and leather, I would love to try it.

  61. What a generous giveaway! My favorite skanky scents are Absolute Pour Le Soir and the sadly discontinued Kingdom and I live in the US.

  62. My favorite animalic frag : Dior leather oud. I hve tried LM black oud and really enjoyed the smoothness of the Oudh.
Will love to try hard leather.
    Thnx

  63. This is so terrific and generous of you to do! I have yet to try a perfume from LM Parfums, but this sounds like an excellent place to start. I’ve recently gotten into leather perfumes, and they may be some of my favorites already. Thank you again! (To confirm: I live in the US.)

  64. So so behind but wanted to throw my hat in the ring for this. I do have 20 mLs coming as part of a split but a free one always smells better 🙂

My favorite animalic fragrance? Hmmm, I don’t normally do animalics but I’ll cheat a little and say Aftelier Cuir de Gardenia for its initial feral stink.

And I live in the good old U.S.A.

    Thanks for the generous giveaway!
